2008 Masters champion Trevor Immelman has added his name to the field for the Abu Dhabi Invitational charity pro-am at Yas Links this weekend.

Immelman, who saw off Tiger Woods by three shots at Augusta National, will join world number three and fellow major winner Rory McIlroy at the tournament. The man from Cape Town will jet into Abu Dhabi after completing the Commercial Bank Qatar Masters tomorrow.

Immelman's fellow South African Darren Fichardt won the 2015 Abu Dhabi Invitational and will return to defend his title on Sunday. Other former winners of the Abu Dhabi Invitational include Retief Goosen, Darren Clarke, Steven Gallacher and Lee Westwood.

Also lining up in a classy field of men's professionals are British Masters champion Matthew Fitzpatrick, in-form Belgian Thomas Pieters, six-time European Tour winner Niclas Fasth and leading Thai players Thongchai Jaidee and Kiradech Aphibarnrat.

The amateur invitees will play an individual tournament on Saturday before pairing up with a pro on Sunday for a team betterball competition.

Emirates Red Crescent will benefit from a variety of fundraising auctions to be held at a gala dinner following the pro-am on Sunday night.
