World number three golfer Rory McIlroy will be the man all the professionals will have to beat in order to claim the lion's share of the AED 1 million prize fund at Yas Links this weekend.
The Northern Irishman will be taking part in the pro-am on Sunday, the second straight year he has done so at the charity tournament. In addition to chasing the prize money for professionals, McIlroy will be paired with a celebrity VIP in the team betterball competition.
McIlroy comes into the tournament in sound form after opening his European Tour season with a solid third place at the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship over the weekend. He finished two strokes behind winner Rickie Fowler.
