ABU DHABI INVITATIONAL RAISES OVER AED 600 000 FOR EMIRATES RED CRESCENT

31 January 2016

Following a fantastic weekend at Yas Links - Arabia’s only true Links course - generous Abu Dhabi Invitational guests helped raise over AED 600,000 for the Emirates Red Crescent.

Throughout the weekend there were a number of fundraising activities at the Abu Dhabi Sports Council event, including a ‘Keepy-Uppy' challenge and a silent auction which culminated in a Live Auction during the Gala Dinner at Yas Marina Circuit. Among a host of remarkable auction prizes was a bespoke painting of Rory McIlroy in action during the Pro-Am, painted by renowned French artist Remi Bartoche in time for the evening auction.

Multiple Major winner McIlroy also donated a pair of golf shoes from the day and a promise of a signed shirt from the Sunday singles matches at this year’s Ryder Cup.
